Muscat

One area where travelers can go to work on their relaxation techniques is Muscat, Oman, located on the Arabian peninsula. Here, tourists can marvel at the magnificent desert scenery while they work on their breathing exercises, as well as visit numerous popular historical attractions around the city.

The Grand Mosque is one of Muscat's most famous sites. The Muslim monument was built with sandstone bricks, with an interior featuring marble paneling, a Swarovski crystal chandelier and opulent Persian rugs. It is the third-largest mosque on earth.

There is also the Al Alam Palace, which is home to Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Unfortunately, tours are not available, as visitation by the public is prohibited, but visitors are still able to stand outside and appreciate its fascinating blue and gold facade.

Other attractions to see include the Bait Al Zubair, a popular museum in Muscat, and Nakhl Fort, a pre-Islamic fortification.

For a chance to experience the beautiful landscape the Muscat has to offer, tourists can board a dhow, which is a tradition Arabian boat. This is a great way to enjoy the peaceful setting of the Omani coastline's turquoise waters.

Today, thousands of Americans practice Dahn Yoga everyday, many of whom are delightedly trying it for the first time. Taking a little time out of one's day to stretch, breathe, pose and meditate with a gentle smile on one's face can radically change one's mood and outlook.

This blog offers responses to news items that prominently feature Dahn Yoga and its neighborhood centers.
