The poses, meditation and breathing exercises described in Dahn Yoga videos can be practiced by people of any age and any yoga skill level. Through this program, practitioners may begin self healing and re-centering themselves. A recent research review has collected a trove of previous studies demonstrating the positive health benefits that yoga and alternative medicine entail.

The meta-study, which appears in the Journal of Advanced Nursing, was created by members of the Network of Researchers in the Public Health of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Their self-described goal was to facilitate greater understanding and cooperation between the fields of healthcare and alternative medicine.

In particular, the study's authors gathered evidence-based research that pointed to the benefits of practicing yoga during maternity or as part of a midwifery system.

"There is a need for in-depth studies on the social dimension of practice as well as the inter- and intra-professional dynamics that shape providers’ decision to use or refer to complementary and alternative medicine in maternity care," the team concluded.

In Dahn Yoga videos, a number of maternity exercises and stretches appear, all of which may help expecting mothers stay flexible, relieve their aches and prepare for childbirth.

Today, thousands of Americans practice Dahn Yoga everyday, many of whom are delightedly trying it for the first time. Taking a little time out of one's day to stretch, breathe, pose and meditate with a gentle smile on one's face can radically change one's mood and outlook.

This blog offers responses to news items that prominently feature Dahn Yoga and its neighborhood centers.
