Taking Dahn Yoga basics like yoga and meditation may do more than enhance fitness and encourage personal growth. A recent study has suggested that practicing brain wave vibration, a form of meditation crossed with yoga, can augment the activity of brain regions associated with creativity.

Research published in the journal Neuroscience Letters concluded as much after using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology to scan the brains of participants who practiced a specific form of yoga.

This practice, called Dahn Yoga brain wave vibration, involves both physical movement and mental exploration. The authors explained it in their report.

"Brain wave vibration meditation is a kind of moving meditation that is designed to help quiet the thinking mind and to release negative emotions through performing natural rhythmic movements and focusing on bodily sensations," the team said.

MRI scans revealed that participants who regularly take part in this activity experienced enhanced activity in the default mode network, a group of cerebral regions that stay active when an individual is daydreaming.

Researchers said that this increased activity suggests an improved attentiveness and personal awareness among those who practice brain wave vibration.

Taking on Dahn Yoga basics like this may allow members to fast-track their mental, physical and personal growth.

It’s kinda interesting to try especially when workloads are keeping you on track with the computer. Is it okay to do this type of meditation at home? or is it on a specific place only?

Though it was founded in the 1980s, Dahn Yoga's basic precepts and techniques are directly descended from methods practiced five millennia ago in East Asia. These precepts include the importance of the mind's partnership with the body, as well as the need for a balanced bond between the two.

Today, thousands of Americans practice Dahn Yoga everyday, many of whom are delightedly trying it for the first time. Taking a little time out of one's day to stretch, breathe, pose and meditate with a gentle smile on one's face can radically change one's mood and outlook.
