Secluded mountains

Written by; Ilchi Lee Prof

Energy is the natural bridge that connects the body, mind, and spirit. It is the perfect bridge to allow people to truly experience the universality of their existence. You no longer have to enter a monastery in high, secluded mountains to reach enlightenment. You don’t have to pray in the desert for forty days and forty nights to reach God. The time for elitist enlightenment is over. The time for the chosen few is over. The whole of humanity needs to realize the Truth for us to change the fortune of the human race. This is not an option. This is not even a matter of life or death. It’s far more important. This is a matter of the survival of our higher existence. And Ki can show us the way.

But Ilchi Lee said what vehicle would we use to cross this bridge? There lies the most important message of this book. At this point, I would like to introduce you to Brain Respiration.

Brain Respiration is a revolutionary relaxation and guided meditation technique that will allow you to feel the Ki energy flowing throughout your body, and eventually tap into the most powerful reservoir of energy in your physical body: your brain. You will use your brain to raise your awareness to the point at which you can consciously communicate with the Cosmic Mind.

Develop the energy system

Keep reading articles by Prof Ilchi Lee about energy system

Certainly, there have been many practices throughout history that recognized and sought to develop the energy system of the body. In fact, this is the ultimate goal of many martial arts in Asia: to strengthen the body by utilizing the energy flow that animates the physical body. But we have never before used this energy flow in a systematic way to strengthen our spiritual body. We have never purposefully utilized the energy flow that circulates through our bodies to connect our life force to the Cosmic Force and thereby to everything and everyone—realizing the Oneness not on an intellectual or even philosophical plane, but reeling it with every single fiber of our being, imprinted onto every one of our cells through a profound experience.

Imagine lecturing about water to someone who has never seen, felt, or touched it. Imagine describing the feel, taste, texture, density, and everything else that makes up water in order to make this person understand what water is. Now imagine lifting up this person and throwing him into a pool. Which do you think will be more effective in teaching him what water truly is? Personal experience, personal connection to the Oneness, is the key to enlightenment.

Cosmic Energy

These lines are copied from Prof Ilchi Lee‘s book “Healing Society”.

How do we do that? How do we make people realize that Cosmic Mind is our minds and that Cosmic Energy is our energy and that we are all part of this majestic Cosmic Order? How do we make people realize that we are one in Yuln’yo, much the same way we realize that we need to breathe to live? How do we make this knowledge instinctive? Or more accurately, how do we cause this already instinctive knowledge to surface to our immediate awareness and be acted upon consciously? We can’t teach through words, for this is not something that can be understood intellectually. History has proven that the various political and economic systems have proven ineffective in teaching people this Truth, if even attempted. Even religions have failed, maybe not with certain select individuals, but certainly on a massive scale. So, how do we awaken the spirituality that we know lies within us? How do we get in touch with the divinity, the same, all-encompassing divinity, that we all share? How?

Energy is the answer or Ki, in Eastern traditions. This is the key element that has been lacking in the spiritual traditions of the world. Energy is what connects the body, mind, and spirit. It is the common bond that holds the three together, while not being limited to any single form. And energy can be the path through which ordinary people can feel the connection to Chunji Kiun, or the Cosmic Energy. The source whence we all came. Yulriyo.

In this technique, the patient should keep his or her legs in a tub or bucket filled with hot water at warmth of 40ºC to 45ºC. Before taking this bath, a glass of water should be taken and the body should be enclosed with a blanket so that no heat or vapor escapes from the footbath. The head should be secluded with a cold compress. The period of the bath is normally from 5 to 20 minutes. The patient should take a cold shower without delay after the bath.

The hot footbath arouses the instinctive muscles of the uterus, intestines, bladder and other pelvic and abdominal organs. It also reduces sprains and ankle joint pains, headaches caused by intellectual congestion, and colds. In women, it helps restore menstruation, if suspended, by growing supply of blood particularly to the uterus and ovaries. Read Ilchi Lee Prof articles about health.

Three to four inches of cold water at a temperature of 7.2 ºC to 12.7º C should be placed in a tiny tub or container. The feet should be totally engrossed in the water for one to five minutes. Resistance should be incessantly applied to the feet during the bath, either by an assistant or by the patient by friction one foot against the other.

Ilchi Lee says that a cold footbath, taken for one or two minutes, reduces cerebral congestion and uterine hemorrhage. It also helps in the handling of
sprains, strains and inflamed bunions when taken for longer time. It should not be taken in cases of provocative circumstances of the genitourinary organs, liver and kidneys.

Imperative Safety Measures

Recommended by: Prof Lee

Certain safety measures are essential while taking these beneficial baths. Full baths should be keeping away from within three hours after a serving of food and one hour before it. Local baths like the hipbath and footbath may, however, be taken two hours after a serving of food.

Ilchi Lee Prof said that clean and pure water must be used for baths and water once used should not be used yet again. While taking baths, temperature and period should be harshly observed to obtain the preferred effects. A thermometer should always be used to calculate the temperature of the body. Women should not take any of the baths throughout menstruation. They can take only hipbaths during pregnancy till the completion of  the third month. A trouble-free nature cure for provocative circumstances is the cold footbath.
