First, you have to be healthy in body and mind. It may be too obvious to mention, but how can you help others and the world when you are not healthy yourself and need others’ care instead?

It is in this vein that health is the most basic precondition to becoming a New Human. When I started the New Human movement twenty years ago, I started teaching calisthenics in a local park. However, more important than having a physically strong body is the establishment of a correct relationship between mind and body. Know who is the master. Be certain that health is needed not just to cater to the whims of the body.

Second, you have to be societally capable. You have to be able to take care of your own basic living needs, for how do you expect to help anyone else if you don’t know where your next meal is coming from? This is why education is important, for it gives you the skills with which you can become self-sufficient in society. Societal capability can be defined as a combination of information and skills. There is no standard of information retention or skills achievement for you to be designated as a societally capable person, however, you should know and do enough to achieve the goals that you have chosen for yourself. For a person with a strong sense of life’s purpose, diligence in learning knowledge and/or skills will be a given, for he knows he needs these to achieve his goals. Read more about Ilchi Lee.

Today, thousands of Americans practice Dahn Yoga everyday, many of whom are delightedly trying it for the first time. Taking a little time out of one's day to stretch, breathe, pose and meditate with a gentle smile on one's face can radically change one's mood and outlook.

This blog offers responses to news items that prominently feature Dahn Yoga and its neighborhood centers.
