Where Dahn Yoga practitioners share their experiences
Most modern systems of Ki-gong came from China, and many people believe Ki-gong originated there. Its beginnings, however, can also be found in the Shin-seon-do (Taoist practices) of Korea.
Based on the ancient text Han-dahn Ko-gi, we can see that Ki-gong began with the history of the Korean people. The Han-dahn Ko-gi relates that Emperor Han-in, who lived in Central Asia about 10,000 years ago, awakened to the divine nature of humanity through the practice of Shin-seon-do.
Shin-seon-do is not a simple health method or martial art, but a discipline for awakening to the deep principles of the universe by training the body and mind, a practice for becoming one with the cosmos to grow as a complete human being who lives for the good of all people and all life.
The lineage associated with these practices reached later generations, along with the principles of the Chun-bu-kyung, and created a community centered on Mt. Baekdu that revealed the divinity of humanity. By the time of Dangun Chosun, these practices had been concretely developed into a founding ideology of the humanitarian ideal, “Hong-ik In-gan I-hwa Se-gye.” Dangun Chosun, based on the principles of creation, education, and civilization, widely spread the philosophy and practices of Shin-seon-do, resulting in the dominant influence of Taoism in that time.
